The quickening

There’s a quickening right now. Can you feel it?

Everything seems to be speeding up.

We’re beginning to experience time differently. Change is the only constant. And it can feel hard to keep up.

So, how can you work with this fast-moving energy? It’s likely your ideas and inspirations are shifting continually, so how do you build on these shifting sands?

How do you create on foundations that are speeding ahead like a car hurtling down the freeway?

These times call for different ways. The quickening is necessary. And resisting it will only cause pain and discomfort. But you can be with the continual pace of change whilst also anchoring ever more deeply into your own truth. In fact, that’s precisely what’s called for right now.

Here are eight specific ways to do just that:

1) BREATHE. Whenever you’re feeling anxious or pressured, pause for a moment and breathe deep down into your belly. Imagine that you’re breathing into your womb space, your creative centre. Say to yourself, ‘I choose to breathe into the very depths of myself and allow the full mystery of my experience now.’ Notice how you feel more centred and grounded, whilst also honouring your inherent fluidity.

2) BE IN NATURE. Being outside and connecting with the natural world is not just a ‘nice to do’ right now, it’s vital. Nature is our greatest teacher when it comes to being with and allowing change. She is both ever present and ever changing. Grounded and evolving. There is deep magic in nature. So allow yourself to be in her presence whenever you can, even if it’s just a couple of minutes in your back garden.

3) MOVE. Let the energy of whatever you’re experiencing move through you in whatever way feels good. Dance, walk in nature, swim, stretch, sway. As you do this, set the intention to process and integrate whatever is coming through you.

4) BE STILL. The unbound woman knows that life is inherently paradoxical, so alongside movement is also the need for stillness. Rest, pause, lie down, nap, sleep, retreat. Allow space in-between, even if it’s just for a few moments. Know that this is where the magic happens.

5) SWITCH OFF. What if you chose to believe that you already know everything you need to? You really don’t need more information. Trust yourself and your deep inner wisdom. Now is the time to be super-intentional about the content you consume. Scroll less and be more.

6) WRITE. Anchor into your own wisdom and provide a channel for whatever wants to come through you. You can’t get this wrong. Write for yourself first and foremost. Let your soul play on the page. And write your desires into reality.

7) ACT. You will have moments of absolute clarity, but they will shift and change. This can be unsettling, but just because you don’t feel the same way every day, don’t wait to act. If you have a particular idea or desire, trust that it’s for a reason. Take inspired action, whilst also giving yourself permission to change your mind. You are a multi-faceted, cyclical being. Allow it all.

8) FOCUS. Underneath it all, know what you believe in. That idea, quality or feeling that calls you forward, focus on that. Even if it’s messy, complicated, or doesn’t seem to make sense, allow everything else to form around it. Allow this focus to guide you through these quickening times.
