Every year when I write these reviews I seem to start with some flavour of ‘Wtf just happened?’ 🤯
I know I’m not alone in that. The times we’re living through right now are tumultuous to be sure. And it doesn’t feel like that’s going to change any time soon (especially with the astrology we have forecast for 2025!) So, I’m assuming 2024 was a rollercoaster for you too, magical soul. That’s the backdrop we’re ALL operating from. So, let’s dive in.
Travel + Adventure
As the year began I knew that I wanted to travel more and spend time in different environments. This is one of the key ways I connect with my Unbound Self – she LOVES a change of scene. I started to take myself on regular play/work dates. The intention was weekly, but I definitely fell off the wagon pretty quickly!
I organised the most yummy solo writing retreat in the New Forest at the end of January, because I wanted to make big progress on my next book, The Abundant Author Playbook. It was a great idea and I DID make progress, but as things panned out this one is waiting until 2025 to be fully birthed. (I’m planning to take myself off for a few days again when I host a virtual writing retreat in The Unbound Writer’s Collective at the end of Jan).
Over Spring Equinox I attended an amazing retreat at Chalice Well in Glastonbury which was hosted by The Unbound Press author, Sonraya Grace, and Pippa Handley-Cooke. It was off-the-charts powerful and I’m sure I’m still feeling the ripples of transformation that were activated.
Early in the year I saw that Simone Grace Seol was co-hosting an event in July with Melissa Tiers in Las Vegas. I’d been dreaming of heading back to the West Coast, so I immediately got my ticket and started cooking up plans. I’d never been to Vegas before. It was an ‘experience’ which I’m glad I’ve now had, but I don’t necessarily feel the need to return.
What I absolutely adored was the road trip I took afterwards. Heading up the coast to San Francisco via Santa Monica, Santa Barbara and Monterey. My Unbound Self was in her element and the sense of freedom was palpable. A bonus was getting to spend the day with Unbound Writer and creator of the Strange Grace Journey Deck, Jennifer Mayol. Definitely one of the highlights of my year.
I was meant to head back to the US in September with Mr H, but the Universe had other plans. I got to take another trip instead – heading to Stavanger in Norway to be with my mum when she was taken seriously ill whilst on a cruise. This was a huge turning point for me. I don’t know exactly what shifted, but I do know some BIG healing took place. My sister and I got to be with mum whilst she recovered in the intensive care unit. It was terrible and beautiful and everything in-between. I was out there for almost 3 weeks (right through eclipse season) and travelled home with mum at the beginning of October.
I don’t know much about astrocartography, but when I looked at my chart later I saw that Stavanger is slap-bang on my Lilith line which is all about the wild feminine. Something big was at play. And honestly, it was the perfect place for mum to be – she received such great care in Norway and is now better than ever. SO freaking grateful!
This felt like an experience where I was catapulted from one timeline to another in a VERY dramatic way. I’d been planning to be in Toronto at an event with a lot of big names in the coaching industry and then heading to Rochester, NY, where Mr H and I used to live, for the first time since we left at the end of 2020. But no. Everything shifted in an instant and I was set on a different path.
Towards the end of the year I got to celebrate with unbound author, Hilary Salzman, at her book launch in Bath and then head up to the Mind Body Spirit Festival in Birmingham where I was hanging out with friends and also speaking.
Having in-person time with magical beings is everything and I intend to create more opportunities to do this in 2025…
Support
I had exquisite support in place this year which I’m very grateful for. At the end of 2023 I’d signed up to work with Moriah Hope, who’s a longstanding member of the unbound community and author of Labyrinth: My Journey to Belonging. I wanted energetic support as The Unbound Press expanded into its next evolution and I knew Moriah was the woman for the job. I don’t quite know how to explain the magic she weaves – energy work doesn’t do it justice at all. Our monthly sessions have been the most incredible journeys, each one leaving me feeling clear, expansive and excited.
On a more practical level in April I joined Inge Hunter’s small group mentoring process – The Accelerator. Inge is someone I’ve had my eye on for a year or so and followed avidly on social media. She runs Clue Content and struck me as someone who knows her stuff in a super-grounded way. We also both have our birthday on December 30th, so we have a very particular flavour of Capricorn energy in common.
When she announced The Accelerator, I tentatively applied. I wasn’t sure if she’d be up for working with a spiritual business like mine, but she absolutely was! I also knew I’d be called to step fully into my CEO self through this process which kinda freaked me out. But it’s been AMAZING.
As well as monthly hotseats, we’ve had quarterly, 1:1 in-person days and that’s been a gamechanger for me. During our last one, Inge somehow tricked me into creating a 5-year plan for the business that feels free, fluid, aligned and super-potent. I’ve totally resisted this kind of planning in the past, but having this in place is giving me so much clarity and helping me stay on track. Let’s see how it unfolds…
The support of the whole team at The Unbound Press has been incredible this year. We’ve been busier than ever with new authors joining the family and some from the past getting to the point where their books were ready to be birthed. I have to give a special mention to our Author Relations + Ops Magician, Em, who has been a goddess-send in 2024. She makes sure our authors are all beautifully looked after and I couldn’t do any of *this* without her.
Finally when it comes to support, I have to give a big shout out to Mr H. Again he’s someone I couldn’t do this without. Whether it’s looking after the house, cooking me dinner, talking through our dreams and plans or holding the fort whilst I was in Norway with mum, he’s done a pretty darn amazing job of embodying the Divine Masculine. It’s not always easy to be in relationship when you’re on the unbound path. We definitely have our ‘moments’ – the question of whether we’re growing apart or together is one we’re often called back to. But knowing he’s got my back is everything.
Realigning
As I mentioned earlier, it’s been our busiest year so far at The Unbound Press with LOTS of books bubbling. At the end of 2024 I felt called to go into ceremony with the books that have been birthed through The Unbound Press so far and I also called in the energy of the books (and the authors) that are to come in the future. It felt so very powerful and like something new was being activated. Deep, deep magic is the vibe and I’m here for it.
When it comes to other offerings and community spaces, after creating a number of different containers at the end of 2023, I got the nudge to bring everything back together at the end of this year. Oh how I love the ever-evolving, unbound path!

The Collective is housed on Skool, a platform I’ve had experience of as a member of other groups and really enjoyed. I know quite a few in the Unbound Writing community have issues with Facebook, so it feels good to have a space away from the noise over there.
Talking of ‘noise’, in these last days of 2024 I’ve really felt the call to tune into my own knowing and let go of looking outwards. I’ve always said I like to follow lots of other people in the online business space to see what they’re up to and learn along the way. But what I’ve realised is that I can easily slip into ‘should-ing’ and end up making decisions based on what others are doing, rather than my own inner knowing. So, I’m currently on a big ol’ binge of unfollowing and unsubscribing. It’s like I’m ready to trust myself at a whole new level and that feels SO good.
The focus for next year is firmly on COMMUNITY. Being amongst a crew of like-hearted writers is so incredibly supportive and every year I’m blown away by the magical beings who are part of the Unbound Writing world.
I’m more passionate than ever about ‘going together’, knowing you and I don’t need to do this alone – we were never meant to.
