A tapping routine to release limiting money beliefs

A tapping routine to release limiting money beliefsDo you ever find yourself really wanting to achieve something, but that pesky, doubting voice in the back of your mind keeps saying you can’t do it?

Maybe you set yourself a juicy financial goal and then the nagging doubts set in, so you feel disheartened and lose belief that you can reach it?

When this happens, its a sign that limiting beliefs are kicking in.

Limiting beliefs are deeply ingrained thought patterns that prevent you from being, doing and having what you truly desire.  They’re very often established in childhood and although they might keep you safe, they will also keep you small and stop you from living to your fullest potential.

Limiting beliefs squash your sense of possibility.

The good news is that you can do something to release these old, restrictive thought patterns and create a new, more resourceful belief system.

My go-to tool for shifting limiting beliefs is Tapping or EFT(Emotional Freedom Technique).  I use it all the time, both personally and with my clients.  It’s simple to use and very effective.

In the video below I guide you through a short tapping routine designed to help you shift some of the most common limiting beliefs about money and wealth.  It doesn’t matter if you’ve never used tapping before, just take a look at the video and tap along (you can’t get it wrong!).

You can use this same process to tap away any other limiting beliefs that you may be experiencing right now.  Just use words that specifically describe what’s coming up for you as you tap round the different points.

And, of course, feel free to comment below with any questions you have or shifts you experienced whilst tapping for yourself.

  1. Wow Nicola, at first I was like, nope, I don’t believe that I don’t deserve the money I want, but then you said “that’s what they told me when I was little” and I realised how my family’s money story affected me. We NEVER had money. My dad was the sole earner and a struggling artist, he was also volatile around money and we feared asking him for money to buy food or pay bills. When I was older and living with my dad, I remember him telling me that he couldn’t wait until I finished high school so that I would no longer be his responsibility (my parents were divorced) and wouldn’t have to waste his money clothing and feeding me. Until your video, I had no idea how these experiences could have set a subconscious belief in me that I was undeserving.

    1. That is SO good to hear! Often it’s those little phrases and words that get those subconscious beliefs that we’re not usually aware of. So pleased you found the video helpful.

  2. Thank you so much for this, Nicola! I’ll admit, I was always skeptical about tapping, but its come up so many times around me lately that I thought it was time to see if it was beneficial. I loved it!

  3. Hi Nicola, thanks for a great Tapping routine. Limiting beliefs are difficult to remove. I am still working on removing my limiting beliefs and ‘reinstalling’ positive ones. Tapping has helped to identify my beliefs but I feel there is a deeper issue that I still need to reveal. I’ll keep your video handy, thanks again!

    1. Ah so glad you found this helpful Deny! Tapping is such a great tool. And yes, very often there’s a deeper issue underneath. Let me know if I can be of any help in uncovering this for you.

  4. Really enjoyed this Nicola and will definitely explore it further. I think I have some very deep-rooted and stubborn limiting beliefs around money, financial security and a very strong inner good girl trying to keep me on a certain path. Work in progress!

    1. I’m SO glad you enjoyed this Gillian and found it helpful. Yes, some of these old beliefs can be very stubborn. A really simple affirmation/mantra to use is – ‘I’ve been telling myself these old stories and I’m ready to let them go now’. Just saying this to yourself regularly is very powerful.
